I know these have been around for a while but I had never seen one before. I bought it to try out a longer buffer tube with a version of Blowback9’s Gentle Recoil System and also with Taccom’s Adjustable Recoil System. With the longer length I should be able to fit many different combos of buffers and Kynshot weights and buffer springs. I found it fit perfectly snug on a milspec A2 tube and the whole assembly is light weight. It is a stock not a brace so I’ll either need to keep a 16” barrel or a p&w setup on it or buy a tax stamp but for now I’m going to run it with an Odin Works 5” p&w lightweight barrel to get to 16”.

Seems well made and i like the look. Just be sure you are working with an A2 tube and also aware that said tube is sold separately. Also, though there are a multitude of places to mount a sling loop, the kit does not come with one. one of the chief complaints with this stock is the struggle of getting the foam over the buffer tube even with LP air. I feel as if there must be some confusion, because I had absolutely no trouble at all. ...except that I got to do it twice because I forgot to thread the stock on first.

Just what I wanted for my .50 Beowulf build. Already had a rifle buffer tube on hand, so no problem. Foam tube is a bear to put on if no air compressor is available, but I managed to get it on. Makes my "Thumper" look great! Thanks Opticsplanet!!

Wanted a fixed stock on my W/C 16" 300. I've been holding out on buying this one due to the mixed reviews. I'm far from a gunsmith, and it took me 5-10 minutes at the most to install. The key is to buy an actual ROUND Mil-spec buffer tube, the one that looks like a long pistol buffer. I sprayed the buffer tube with regular can of WD-40 silicone spray. Let it dry, then hit it again with the spray. It really helps if you get a parkerized finish on the tube. The mil-spec style finish has a porous quality to it, and it's designed to kinda absorb lube. The silicone spray basically soaks into the finish of the buffer and you can put the foam on with zero problems. The buffer will now feel slick, kinda like a waxed finish on a car. It just slides on with zero effort. You can remove the foam tube as many times as you want without any issues. It's rock solid, super comfortable, awesome quality stock. If your worried about the rifle length buffer tube and spring, don't. Several companies make a spacer for the rifle buffer that allows you to run a carbine length buffer and spring. I have a J&P silent carbine buffer and it came with the spacer. My pistol length .300 runs perfect.

These stock are simple and strong. No complicated attachment or moving parts. The pad is comfortable and well made. Replacement parts are cheap and available from DoubleStar. I change the color on 2 of mine. I have 4 in the stable. Best fixed stock option for the AR15/AR10 platform, IMO.

Giving this copy of the original fx stock only 3 stars because the buffer tube could not be installed without altering the stock in my hydraulic press to get it to fit , I have owned a couple of the original stocks and had been installed with no problems , I went with this one because an original is hard to find , if you have a press you can fix the fitting problem if it was like mine was , my advise buy the original one that comes with no headaches ...
