This is a great scope if you don't want to use it over 30X magnification. The image really starts to haze about there and forget about 50 to 60X. It's like looking through a frosted bathroom window. The dot in the center of the reticle is so small that unless your target is snow white it's VERY hard to find. I am getting into F-Class shooting and was using a 50X Nikko-Sterling that got fuzzy at high power and wanted an upgrade and since this is my 5th Vortex scope and had a $2K price, I thought this was just the ticket. WRONG !!!!! If you don't mind very fuzzy images at high power, there are a lot of less expensive scopes out there.

I would and will buy another one of these scope clearest glass and strongest power for the $$$$ you can get that a lot from someone with the eye site have. I have bought Nightforce and Sightron as well as Leopold by far I like this scope much better and best bang for your buck.

I purchased this scope about 5 months ago and only just recently mounted it. The glass is very clear and it's solidly built. The ECR-1 reticle is perfect for F-Class shooting with only a 1/8 moa dot in the center horizontal an bottom verticle reticle lines that stop short of touching the center dot. At 60x I can literally choose which leg of the "X" on a MR1-FC to place my shot with not mirage. My only complaint is the light transmission at higher magnifications. For example I recently shot a 3x600 yard midday without a cloud in the sky and at 60x it seemed more like an hour before sunset. The image was still crisp, but quite dark.

Had I tried it within the first 30 days I would likely have returned it for a "Night Force Precision Illuminated Benchrest 12-42x56 NP-2DD" and saved $50. That said I really like the advantage of 60x over 42x when conditions allow it despite the poor light transmission.
